The City of Roanoke is now accepting pre-application proposals for the development of rental housing targeted to individuals exiting homelessness. See information below for more details!City of Roanoke, Virginia - Government is seeking proposals to produce 50 safe, affordable rental units with the Home Safe program. A pre-application is available at www.roanokeva.gov/2912/Home-Safe. Pre-Applications are due March 25th at 4pm EST. Interest sessions will be held virtually March 6th at 3pm and March 12th at 10:30am for interested parties. To receive a link to the session e-mail housing@roanokeva.gov. Through the City's HUD Community Resources Division, Home Safe will help those who are currently experiencing homelessness and housing instability connect to the necessary resources in order to access permanent, safe housing. Thank you to our fantastic community partners for assisting with our 2024 Winter Point-in-Time Count! Radford University PA Program at Radford University Carilion, Salem VA Medical Center, Bradley Free Clinic, Downtown Roanoke, Inc., Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare, Greene Memorial United Methodist Church, Roanoke City Police Department, Roanoke Sheriff's OfficeThe Radford University PA students are even busier than usual this week!! In the very early morning hours many of our first-year students and three faculty members joined the Homeless Assistance Team to go out and find persons sleeping unsheltered to assess for homeless assistance needs in Roanoke.
